Presentation.

The Spanish-Portuguese Conference on Electrical Engineering is the natural heir of the "Jornadas Hispano Lusas de Ingeniería Eléctrica -JHLIE" that were founded in 1990 in Vigo.

The last ten editions that took place in Vigo (1990), Coimbra (1991), Barcelona (1993), Porto (1995), Salamanca (1997), Lisboa (1999), Madrid (2001), Vilamoura (2003), Marbella (2005), Funchal. Madeira Island (2007), Zaragoza (2009) and Ponta Delgada. Azores (2011) allowed this initiative to be consolidated.

It is then with a great pleasure that we announce the realization of the XIII Spanish-Portuguese Conference on Electrical Engineering, that will take place from 3 to 5 of July, 2013 at the Rectorat of the Polithecnical University of Valencia, UPV, (Spain).

In this new edition, in which organization collaborate professors of the Vigo, Coimbra and UPV Universities and members of Institute of Electrical Technology (ITE), we counting also with the invaluable Technical Co-Sponsorship of two distinguished international associations like are: IEEE and the Power Engineering Society (PES), closely bound to IEEE.

This XIII Spanish Portuguese Conference on Electrical Engineering (XIIICHLIE) will cover the following subjects:

1. Electrical Energy Systems Analysis
2. Electrical Energy Systems Management
3. Electrical Machines and Power Electronics
4. CAD/CAE Techniques and Simulation
5. Electrical Installations
6. Industrial Production, Instrumentation, Control and Robotic

A two A4 double-column pages digest for each original scientific paper shall be submitted to the International Secretariar for the evaluation for at least two memebers of the International Scientific Committee and, if it is accepted, will be presented in oral or poster thematic presentation. Accepted full papers will be included in the CDRom of the Conference and a two pages summary will be included in a Book of Summaries of the XIIICHLIE. As before it will be encouraged the poster presentations in order to allow and encourage the experience exchange between researchers of related fields. The oral sessions will be dedicated for general purpose presentations. In the XIIICHLIE documentation no distintion will be made between oral and poster presentation sessions. There will be some invited plenary sessions with industry or university experts.

The official languages will be: Spanish, Portuguese and English.

The technical programme will be complemented with a fine social and accompanying persons programme to places of interest.
